 TAO Organic Farm
To make life sparkle,we need to appereciate the heavens,earth and human life. Food is a source of life, so we feel that agriculture teaches us a lot about life. We think of farming as an education so events such as harvesting are treated as work shops. We invite groups of people from all over Japan and other countries to participate in the harvest and in other events.
Our farming uses no chemicals or pesticides. We only use natural organic
farming methods. Please come and join us.
 Tipi
We have an Indian style tent(Tipi) in our organic farm. Indians believe
that should judge how to live life through looking at least seven generations
into the future. The Tipi fits at least 20 people, rain or shine. A fire
can be lit inside the Tipi with the smoke rising outside. My friend, Rokuro's
wife made the Tipi for us. Now this has become a symbol of TAO Organic
Farm.
 Star dome
This star dome is built with the same concepts as Dr Buckmister Fuller's
dome. A research group named Y-ken in Kita-Kyushu University developed
the original design. Two of the members of Ya-ken, Mr Murakami and Mr Takahashi
helped us to make the star dome in our farm. The reason this construction
is called a star dome is because you can see a star on the top and five
stars on the sides. Next year, you will see tomato dome, cucumber dome
and kiwi dome.
 Using traditional agriculture tools
We do not use modern machinery of herbicides. Instead we use traditional
tools as shown.
 The hand-planting challenge
We enjoy farming, and play music around the rice fields. During work we
stop and do stretches and after work we give each other massages to loosen
up our muscles.
 Yummy fresh vegetables
Organic vegetables from TAO farm have a lot of vitamins and minerals so
we can get newfound vigor from them. Bon Appetit!
