 Hatano was born in Oguni Town, Also Country, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.
He graduated from Hosei University with a major in sociology and then he
graduated from Toyo acupuncture institute.
As an active, healthy sportsman from junior high school through to college,
Hatano did have cause to deeply about health or disease. However, when
he encountered his grandmother's death, new interest in holistic medicine
was sparked. From 1993 to 1994, after getting a practicing license in acupuncture
and shiatsu, he went on to the Kushi Institute(United States), which is
well known as a study center for macro biology and oriental medicine. Following
this, he traveled further to visit health, education and cultural facilities
throughout Europe.
After traveling around the Western World, he returned to his hometown,
which is surrounded by nature: Oguni in Aso. There, Hatano founded TAO
School, which has many unique classes(guests speakers are invited from
many interesting occupations, and from all over the world).
Hatano edited and published the book named 'Keeping Oguni beautiful for our children'. With his wife, he also made a relaxation C.D of music box music that
is played in latest book published by Nanposhinsha, is 'The Common Logic of Medicine, food and farming: The range of human life'.
